Description
Point of Sale: Checkout operators (or cashiers) operate tills at sales points in stores. They record and receive payments for goods being purchased. They pass an electronic bar code reader or key in prices manually. Skilled checkout operators play an important role in contributing to the profits of the business, through the way in which they communicate with customers.
On completion of this course you should be able to:
• Communicate effectively with customers to execute your duties as checkout operator.
• Record transactions and processing payments to minimise losses.
• Cash up and balancing takings accurately so that losses and time wasting are minimised.
